After the last text he'd sent, he'd gotten started on dinner immediately. Nothing fancy or too involved, but enough that he wouldn't worry once Ann ate her body weight in sweets. And, because it wasn't fancy, he could step away while it kept cooking. Truly, he was a mastermind when it came to all sorts of things.
The sound of the door opening had him peeking around the corner, hand on his chin and squinting. "Hm, I can't see too well, give me a sec," he called, pulling his apron off and wandering out toward his partner.
Along the way, he kept squinting, even going so far as to set his hand above his eyes to block out the light. Something in here was blinding. Radiant, even! Whatever could it be? When he was within arm's reach, he leaned in to examine Ann, doing so for a few very silent seconds...
"Oh, I see now. An amazingly cute supermodel is here." No further fanfare or warnings came prior to his 'faint', his body tipping forward and into her very conveniently and not at all prepared slightly open arms.
